Amaya's Christmas in Taos

Amaya went with me to visit my mother in Taos for Christmas.

We didn't go site-seeing in Taos.
Amaya visited the most photographed sewing machine in Taos,
my mom's 1930's Singer Portable Machine
she uses for sewing quilts.

She proudly posed on top with the bobbin.

Then she happily sat down to pose!

My mom has a Serta Keychain for
Counting Sheep 101.

The sheep was hanging out on the Christmas tree
until he met Amaya. He followed her around.
Now Amaya wants her own sheep.

Amaya then discovered the Hawaiian shirts
my mom uses as fabric in some of her quilts.
I would love to take this shirt home!

My mom collects a different type of dolls.
These are Japanese Kokeshi dolls.

"Can we bring the little ones home?"

I returned home on December 26th.

We stopped by the Rio Grande River.

It looks as cold as ice!!!!!

Gift Swap

Our Facebook Group
Tiny BJD Companions
is a group of Facebook friends who have a common interest in
Tiny BJD Companions.

Six of us participated in a gift swap. Everyone who participated was partnered with dolls the same size as their dolls to make it easier to determine the size of gifts to send.

Ella, a 10-inch Littlefee, exchanged gifts with Owen, who is a YOSD boy.

Ella sat on a few boxes to open her presents in front of the tree
instead of under the tree
in order to photograph the tree in the background instead of its base.

Owen sent a very special Tortoro from his own collection!

Thank you for sharing something so special to you!

He also sent Ella "A is for Annabelle" by Tasha Tudor.
Ella has a collection of books and a pink room!
This book will be set in view on her dresser!

The last present Owen sent is a beautiful watercolor painting of a Baltimore Oriole,
which is the state bird of Maryland.
He was very thoughtful to share his favorite toy and a part of the state he lives in!

Owen included a nice letter with a tree drawn on it.
Of course, Ella read his letter before opening her presents from him!

Thank you, Owen!
Thank you to everyone at Tiny BJD Companions!
Merry Christmas to all!

Ella sent Owen
Where the Wild Things Are,
a crown like the one Max wore in Where the Wild Things Are,
and a pillow with a picture from the book on it.

Owen was happy to receive his gifts from
Ella!

Amaya's Christmas Gifts

Amaya has enjoyed sending gifts to her cousin Button
since she arrived Colorado.

Amaya sent her a wagon to help Button with her gardening and M&Ms to remember her last day with her when they played in the wagon with the M&Ms.

Button sent her a Christmas gift, too! There were two boxes!

Amaya sat on the blue box to open the Amazon box.

Button had sent her the Origami book she had asked for in a swap with her. She sent the kit that goes with the book and chocolate that sits in little blue papers.

She sent another box of candy, a green bag called "Christmas Surprise", candy canes, and the bag of barbecue chips requested by this little cowgirl.

Amaya put the book on her bookshelf/bench with the other books
created by Button's person.

Amaya took the chips to her tent in hopes that Autumn
would not eat them before she gets her own tent.

Autumn's wish list is to have her own tent and
her own bag of chips.

Happy Birthday, Amaya!

Fire Engine Christmas

 On November 29, 2014

The Day After Thanksgiving

Ella met Santa Claus in the Santa Fe Plaza! He was on a fire engine!

He invited guests to have their photo taken with him.

The fire department was accepting donations to contribute to others.

Santa in Santa Fe

Ella especially liked the fire engine!

Santa waved as he drove out of sight....
Merry Christmas to all...
WAIT! This was the day after Thanksgiving.
It was not quite Christmas Eve.

On December 6, 2014
We were setting up for Christmas.
Ella received her own toy fire engine
and a book about fire engines!

We have a growing fleet of fire engines!
Now there are three fire engines!

The smallest one is like a toy car.
The larger two fire engines are Hallmark Kiddie Car Classic ornaments.

Ella has the first fire engine.

Autumn is near the Hallmark ornament that looks most like
the peddle car I had when I was a preschooler in the early 1970's.

Amaya wants the older model fire engine pedal car
in the larger version that she can actually ride in.
I don't know if she would fit with the mini size car
or the full-size Kiddie Car Classic as the fit is inconsistent.

Ella likes that we still think of fire engines for Christmas!

Re-Ment

Amaya really wanted to help her cousin Button find a camera
so she went to Saraya's room and shared a photo of Saraya's camera with Button
She thought maybe Button would like to find one just like it!

Button's person is experienced in the doll world and
said that Saraya's camera is from a Re-Ment set.
It would be too expensive now!
Yes and YES!

When Amaya was in Saraya's bedroom, she noticed that the fan
was still on the bookshelf. It is also from a Re-Ment set.
Time to put the heater out and put the fan away!

Ella jumped into the box of Re-Ment collectibles
and pulled out the heater.

Ella put the heater on the bookshelf.

Autumn helped to put the fan away.

As she put the fan away,
Autumn pulled out some Re-Ment Sets
that looked fun and edible!

Ella, Autumn, and Amaya played with the
Disney 50's Cafe Sets

As they put the Disney sets away
Stitch jumped out of the Re-Ment Box
and joined in for a group photo.
