A few days ago,
I had one of "those days" at work.
So, when I got home,
I looked for some doll play time.
Or something to take my energy out on.
I had originally painted the display shelf a dark green
to match the wall shelf above it,
but it just didn't work for me.
Next, I tried a lighter green to match the trim
on the dresser. The problem was that I had painted
it years ago, and could not find the same color paint.
I tried to mix a few colors, but it didn't work, either.
It also didn't last long.
Finally, I painted it a vanilla white, which did not match
the off white of the other furniture.
So, a few days ago,
I took out a coarse grain sandpaper and started sanding.
That was satisfying!
It also resulted in a pretty cool distressed look.
Now I have a new piece that so far,
I like, and seems to work with the dresser and the bed.
I love my new bedroom!
Can we go out and play?
Very cute, your a lucky girl to have her own room.
ReplyDeleteCame out fabulous! I like the "distressed" look. And hopefully you're feeling less stressed out. I hate "those" days.
ReplyDeleteI really like the distressed look of the bookcase! Her room is just lovely. :)
ReplyDeleteHope your day got better!
