Bridge Over the Rio Grande

We started today's adventure with the ADAD theme
"In the Distance" at the Pueblo Montano Trailhead.

The Pueblo Montano Trailhead is noted for its
carved log sculptures made from trees that were lost
in a fire in 2003. It serves as a tribute to the firefighters.

We aren't going to play on the ground with the bugs
and the cottonwood pods like the last time we were  here, are we?

No, we aren't staying at the trailhead this time.
We are going to see the Rio Grande.

This is not the Rio Grande!!!

No, you know it isn't the Rio Grande.
I believe this is an arroyo that runs parallel to the river.
I have never seen it this full, but we have experienced
more rainfall than usual for several weeks.
It makes the rivers full and the trees and plants green.

We aren't walking on the trail under the bridge?

No, we are going to walk on the bridge like we did
in March. Now we will see how the trees and plants
and river have changed since early spring.

So is the grasshopper on the wall between the pedestrian
sidewalk and the road for the cars!

There is the Rio Grande!

ADAD In the Distance

I remember when I saw it in the Taos canyon
just a few weeks ago, too.

It is a lot fuller than it was in March!
There is water where we sometimes stand on the edge
when we use the trail to the river.

I wonder what the Rio Grande looks like in Texas.

I love this sign at the Pueblo Montano Trailhead.
I would say that the vegetation is making good progress
in recovering.

I love that summer can help many living beings
grow and recover! It is a wonderful time to celebrate
and to live in wonder.
